Rox, don't beat yourself up dear. You're not an idiot. Just human.

Yes, get tested. but know that those tests are not 100% accurate for neither positive nor negative readings. Also, never never never get tested when you are ill or feeling ill. I have read that a cold, allergy symptoms, flu, etc. can skew the results.

The literature they give you at the testing sites regarding HIV tests is enough to make you say "huh?" The false positives, the false negatives--some might say why get tested at all if no one knows for sure, especially the doctors?

I just read the other day that the number of AIDS deaths around the world is declining. Yet, another website is saying the number of AIDS deaths in Africa is reaching astronomical proportions. The statistical data for both articles was supposedly taken from reliable sources.

Rox, we have to be educated consumers in all aspects of our lives. Everything we hear is not always true, no matter how widely held the notion is.

We also have to remember that AIDS is not a disease itself, rather an opportunistic number of diseases or infections that attack the body and win because the immune system has deteriorated to the point where it can no longer protect the body.

It's important to take care of ourselves in many ways. STD testing and condom usage are just two. Very Happy

check with your insurance or local blood donar service that can get you checked out for free.

Well, I don't play so hard this year. But I still get myself tested inorder to be sure.

I dont even have to get myself tested, because something always end up happening wher eI have to go to the damn doctor and they have to draw blood. I'm sp accident prone its ridiculous.
