I experienced both. But it felt better if you fall out of love simply because of the undescribable feeling it gave you. If you truly love your sex partner, the feeling of happiness is lasting.

I think it comes down to the difference between that "in love" feeling and really loving someone. To me, the "in love" thing is all starry eyes and cotton candy and roller coaster feelings. Real love is more clear-eyed and mashed potatoes and other basics for long life. So, in my world, the "in love" thing can vanish as quickly as it came up, but real love goes on for a long time. It may evolve and change, but it never really dies completely, even when you think it has.

LOL. Thanks, myca. The point I'm aiming at is that real love might not be very romantic, but it's very nourishing. That "in love" thing is fun, but you can't keep it going forever. |

Your exactly right QuietLunatic. I think I'm in love again. It's the most wonderful feelings to treasure of.

I agree, the "romantic" experience will not last as strongly as it starts out, but in a good relationship it's replaced with an equally important variation of the feeling.

You can't turn love off and on like a light switch. That is something that you have to gradually fall out of. Things take time to happen.
